Yesterday, in Glasgow, the fashion designer Stella McCartney opened an exhibition on vegan and sustainable fashion innovations to raise awareness among policymakers at the United Nations Climate Change Conference.

"I am committed. I am focused." It is in these terms that the combative Stella McCartney described her state of mind, the day before yesterday, on her Instagram account, as she arrived at COP26, the United Nations Conference on Climate Change taking place in Glasgow, until November 12th.
The English designer, ardent defender of a fashion more respectful of the environment and of sentients beings, humans and non-human animals, has inaugurated, yesterday, her exhibition "Future of Fashion: An innovation conversation with Stella McCartney", at Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, one of Scotland's most important museums.
Intended to raise awareness among the political decision-makers of the countries present at the COP26 on the possibilities offered by innovative materials, which the designer uses for her collections, the event aims to inspire "private investment and government incentives for nature-positive solutions", explains Stella McCartney on her Instagram account, adding: "Animal leather and fur come from animal agriculture, which is responsible for one-fifth of human-induced greenhouse-gas emissions – also driving climate change, deforestation and species extinction. Leather has an additional human cost, with 90% of Bangladeshi tannery workers dying before the age of 50.If we want to save all our skins, we must end these horrific practices."
"The future of fashion and our planet is cruelty-free," says Stella McCartney, who calls to sign her petition to end the use of animal leather and animal fur, here.
The exhibition highlights, for instance, Stella McCartney's initiatives in innovative vegan and eco-responsible fashion, such as her first Mylo unleather bag, made from mycelium, the roots of mushrooms by the American company Bolt Threads (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article) or the first vegan football shoes created in collaboration with Adidas for the French footballer Paul Pogba.
