"I can't wait to welcome one of you to the All Stars Hall of Fame." It is in these terms that Shea Couleé left a message, yesterday, "from a far away galaxy", to the four finalists of the season 6 of the reality TV show RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, Kylie Sonique Love, Eureka O 'Hara, Ginger Minj and Ra'Jah O'Hara.
The reigning All Stars queen, winner of the previous season of RuPaul's Drag Race spinoff contest featuring former contestants, appeared in a light-up outfit not unknown to her fans. This is, in fact, the one that Shea Couleé sports in the music video for her track Collide, released on June 12, 2020.
“I wanted to create a fantasy about digital sex robots (…) It’s kind of Metropolis meets Westworld”, the American drag queen told US Vogue on October 30, 2020. Shea Couleé also took inspiration from the French designer Thierry Mugler, as well as Star Wars and its protocol droid C-3P0 to transform into this "high-fashion robot”, with a “futuristic vibe", as described by the American magazine.
The look is composed of a black, red and silver chrome bodysuit, “with LED lights that run throughout it”, explains Shea Couleé : “The lights generate from the core of the suit, almost as if there’s this heartbeat". The silhouette is signed by Chicago-based designer Joshuan Aponte who regularly creates outfits for drag artists.

At the end of the sixth edition of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars, Shea Couleé passed the torch to transgender queen Kylie Sonique Love, new All Stars to join the Drag Race Hall of Fame. Watch an extract from the show below.
