Using technology to give a new point of view on a fashion presentation, such is the successful bet of Lisi Herrebrugh and Rushemy Botter, the two Dutch designers of the brand Botter, launched in 2016. The fall-winter 2021/2022 collection of this duo, spotted at Hyères Festival in 2018, where they won the Grand Prix du Jury, were indeed filmed by remote-controlled drones having mingled with the ballet of models.
Discover Botter's “Romancing The Coral Reef” collection, whose message is dedicated to preserving the environment, in the presentation video unveiled on January 21, 2021, during Paris Fashion Week Menswear édition.
Drones are no stranger to fashion catwalks. The bags of Dolce Gabbana Fall-Winter 2018-19 show were already presented using these unmanned aircrafts.
The use of technological tools in fashion shows is nothing new. Last October 12, during Rakuten Fashion Week in Tokyo, the Spring-Summer 2021 presentation of the Japanese designer Kozaburo Akasaka was filmed using a robotic arm, equiped with a camera, both playing the role of a huge tonearm on a giant turnatable, on which the models were walking.
