Clara Daguin, a specialist in integrating light into textiles, designed the LED system for the Dior outfits worn by singer Juliette Armanet and pianist Sofiane Pamart during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games, in Paris, on July 26.

"She mustn't forget to press the little button." This was the concern of Clara Daguin on the eve of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games on July 26, as she was finalizing the details of the luminous outfit that Juliette Armanet would wear on the Seine during her performance of John Lennon's song Imagine. This "little button" is the one that successfully activated the luminous embroidery designed by the stylist, specialist in integrating light into textiles, for the Dior costume of the French singer but also that of the French pianist Sofiane Pamart who accompanied her on a burning piano.

Commissioned last January, at the initiative of Thomas Jolly, artistic director of the Olympic opening ceremony and Daphné Bürki, head of styling and costumes, Juliette Armanet's outfit is composed of a cropped top and tight pants that flare at the bottom. The Dior workshop took care of the embroidery on the seams of the pants and on the armholes of the top, with the light from the LEDs evolving from the bottom to the top. "The singer's varnished coated canvas ensemble is enhanced with a multitude of faceted pearls, which light up to the rhythm of the song thanks to an ingenious programming system," Clarin Daguin says on her Instagram account. As for the LEDs on Sofiane Pamart's outfit, their light is turning around the artist's body. Find Clara Daguin's explanations in the video below.

This is not Clara Daguin's first collaboration with Daphné Bürki. The fashion tech stylist had already designed a light-up costume for the judge of RuPaul’s Drag Race France, for episode 6 of season 3 of the reality TV show, broadcast on July 5, 2024.
