Rick Owens' brilliant idea for his Fall-Winter 22/23 fashion show

What do ancient Egypt, the American artist Dan Flavin and Philips have in common? Fashion tech accessories from Strobe, the latest show by the stylist Rick Owens.

In cartoons, when a caracter has just been struck by a flash of genius, a light bulb lights up above its head. In Rick owens’ men's Fall-Winter 2022/2023 show, the light bulbs are real and really illuminate the silhouettes of the models that walked the runway, the day before yesterday, during Paris Fashion Week.

Rick Owens was inspired by the headdresses of ancient Egypt to create luminous headpiece, paying homage to the American artist Dan Flavin, famous for his installations in fluorescent light tubes.

The American designer used bulbs from the electronics brand Philips, whose glow echoed the stroboscopic effects of the collection show, entitled Strobe. Check it out in the video below.
