Le Boudoir Numérique in virtual reality at the Circular Fashion Summit by Lablaco
The Boudoir Numérique avatar invites you to discover the summit on circular fashion which has started today at the Grand Palais. Follow the virtual guide.
By Ludmilla Intravaia
10:45 AM - It all starts just like when you are about to go to a trade show: first, you dress for the occasion.
For its avatar, Le Boudoir Numérique has chosen a rather casual look, since its editor-in-chief, namely me, Ludmilla Intravaia, is in fact very comfortably installed in her living room, with a VR headset on her head. Blue hoodie with a touch of pink, a pair of jeans and for fun, Sailor Moon’s odango double buns hairstyle in red. Rather relax indeed, it’s the first time that I participate in a fashion event in socks.
I then enter a huge blue reception hall, overlooking Paris, where the virtual event dedicated to circular fashion takes place.
The view over Paris, from the reception hall of the event.
Time to visit the Grand Palais, specially reconstructed by computer for the summit. And already several avatars come to greet me and ask me as a friend.
The participants start to talk to each other.

11:40 AM - Just the time to write that short introduction report… I must go back to the summit, as the opening roundtable will begin in 5 minutes. Let’s immerse again in virtual reality. While waiting for my return to In Real Life with more info on the summit, find out more about the Lablaco platform initiative, with the interview of its co-CEO here.
11:45 AM – The avatars of the participants arrive on the main stage of the Circular Fashion Summit, to attend the opening statement and roundtable, titled “The New Fashion System”.
12 PM - 1 PM - This opening conference brings together the following five representatives of fashion around the world:
* Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the Council of Fashion Designers of America;
* Caroline Rush, CEO of the British Fashion Council;
* Carlo Capasa, President of the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana;
* Pascal Morand, Executive president of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode;
* Lv Xiaolei, General Manager of Shanghai International Fashion Center.
The speakers talked about how the fashion industry and the fashions weeks in their respective countries have had to adapt to the Covid-19 crisis by digitizing their activities, especially with online platforms, and took stock of the current situation, as well as new emerging models, particularly in terms of sustainability. Viewers avatars could mark their feelings with emojis hovering over their heads.
2 PM - 7 PM - Three conferences were held on the themes of technology, circularity and design. Find a video extract of the conference “Turning circularity into business”, below.
* The Circular Fashion Summit takes place from October 3 to 4, 2020, in virtual reality. More info on the event website here. The Lablaco website is there.
