Attending the Spring-Summer 2023 show, Wirwar, by the Belgian designer Walter Van Beirendonck, was the guarantee of extravagance on (and back) stage. Le Boudoir Numérique reports from the Théâtre de la Madeleine, on June 22, during Paris Fashion Week Menswear.

“Welcome to Wirwar, where we uncover the ghosts of futures past still blessing the Golden Boys.” It takes a designer as avant-garde as Walter Van Beirendonck to master the puzzling borrowing from the wardrobe of the gentlemen of yesteryear, while delivering a collection as resolutely modern and coherent as the one presented at the Théâtre de la Madeleine, on June 22, as part of Paris Fashion Week Menswear.
Ruffs, ribbon trousers, shirts with rushed sleeves and Grand Siècle shoes mixed with total golden looks, slogan T-shirts, caps and large logo chains, in a wave of Club Kids extravagances, clashing colors and fun prints, dear to the master of Belgian eccentricity. A menswear collection true to its brief that states its resolve “to paint the world in electric colours and rage and imagine flying high”. Images: © Walter Van Beirendonck.
Perfect illustration of this fashion statement, the show opened with ghostly silhouettes, whose black fabric flew theatrically towards the ceiling, revealing an immaculate first look, as one can see in the SS23 fashion show video, below.
But, as it is more and more often the case during fashion weeks, it was also the public of the show that came dressed to the nines, in the most craziest outfits, as one can see in this Boudoir Numérique report video below.
