Luminous face mask, neuro-connected headset to find your favorite perfume, algorithms for skin diagnosis or on demand lipstick device… Viva Technology, the innovation and startups trade show which took place in Paris from 15 to June 18, remains the best place to grasp the evolution of beauty tech trends of the two French groups L'Oréal and LVMH.

* L'OREAL
Visitors to the L'Oréal group's space were able to test Scent-Sation by YSL Beauté, an immersive in-store experience with a neuro-connected headset that uses electroencephalography, the measurement of the electrical activity of the brain, to make fragrance recommendations. Resulting from the collaboration of YSL Beauty Tech Innovation Lab with the startup Emotiv, which manufactures portable electroencephalography products, Scent-Sation was presented, for the first time, in Dubai Mall, a shopping center in the United Arab EmiratesEmirates, last December.
YSL Beauté also shared the experience of customizing lipstick shades at home, Rouge sur Mesure, already presented at CES in January 2021 (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article).
Like the technology of Rouge sur Mesure smart device, which is based on artificial intelligence, the algorithms of Lancôme Skin Screen imaging system have been trained on more than 15,000 reference images to deliver a diagnosis including thirteen skin health parameters: fine lines and wrinkles, firmness, crow's feet wrinkles, texture, clogged pores, dark spots, eye bags, surface spots, redness, UV damage, hydration, dark circles and visible pores. The results obtained allow Lancôme advisors to provide personalized suggestions for a tailor-made beauty routine.
As for the Lancôme Shade Finder device, it measures the complexion on three parts of the face to determine the ideal shade of foundation, by detecting up to 22.500 unique skin tones.

* LVMH
In the space of LVMH group, featuring a blue Haussmannian apartment, Christian Dior Parfums presented the Dior x Lucibel collaboration, namely the Ove mask. Dedicated to cellular regeneration of the skin, under the action of light, this mask mounted on a foot like a lamp is signed by the designer Olivier Lapidus (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article).
Make-Up Forever offered personalized make-up advice, thanks to the Morpho Beauty application, putting artificial intelligence at the service of the expertise of the French brand's make-up artists.
While Christian Dior Parfums immersed visitors in its virtual olfactory universe, through its Miss Dior x Google Lens collaboration, at Guerlain, a green wall bearing its bee emblem, invited them to acquire a non-fungible token from the Cryptobees series of NFTs. A purchase to support the renaturation of a plot of land in the Vallée de la Millière nature reserve, a project to protect biodiversity in the Yvelines, led by the French environmental activist Yann Arthus-Bertrand and of which Guerlain is the patron since this year.
