After the singers Doja Cat (read here), Lady Gaga (read there) and the rapper Lil Nas X, it's Grimes' turn to collaborate with the American fashion tech designer Asher Levine, in her latest music video Shinigami Eyes, released yesterday.
If the Canadian singer is used to Iris van Herpen’s silhouettes, in her music videos (read here) or her red carpets (read there), in this case, she has chosen to set her sights on the luminous Tetra suit, a nude body scale-print, inspired by dragonfly wings.
A virtual version of the bodysuit was placed over a scan of Grimes' body to design the custom piece. The dragonfly motif, designed with the American generative design studio Nervous System, was 3D printed on the garment which also has parts that can light up from the inside, during the shooting.
Grimes is joined in the video by Jennie Kim, one of the singers of the K-pop group Blackpink who wears the Candy Moto Biker jacket decorated with color-changing shell light bulbs. Watch Shinigami Eyes video, below.
