Rest assured, this function was not intentionally provided by the Chinese manufacturer, it is the unexpected result of an infrared filter, placed on one of the camera's photo sensors.

A peeping Tom phone? See through certain materials such as plastic and textiles, this is the capacity of the OnePlus 8 Pro phone which has been the talking topic amongst geeks, for two days, on the web. Internet users have, in fact, spotted that the model of the Chinese manufacturer OnePlus, unveiled last April, has an infrared filter on one of the sensors on the back of the device to add aesthetic effects to the photos taken by the phone.
By filtering certain colors, the sensor therefore inadvertently acquired the power to show the interior of various objects, as explained in the video from the YouTube channel Unbox Therapy, published yesterday (see below). A function that could make the delight of fashion tech voyeurs of the future, if 3D printed plastic dresses were to meet the success that some predict.
