In the aftermath of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia this May 17, and while LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) pride marches and parades of June are already postponed, for instance in Paris, due to the Coronaviris crisis, the American brand Apple celebrates diversity and inclusivity with the launch of two new Pride Edition bands for its Watch, the Pride Edition Sport band decorated with colored fluoroelastomer strips and the Nike Pride Edition Sport band, with rainbow tones inside the perforations of the wristband.
“Apple and Nike are proud to support LGBTQ organizations doing vital advocacy and community-building worldwide, including GLSEN, PFLAG, The Trevor Project, Gender Spectrum, The National Center for Transgender Equality, and ILGA World, which brings together more than 1,500 member organizations in more than 150 countries and regions”, says an Apple press communique, on May 18, 2020 (see here). The bands are matching Pride Watch faces that are coming soon as a part of watchOS 6.2.5.
