From the Valais raclette to fashion, there is only one step. That’s what the spectators of Milan fashion week, in its digital version, due to the Covid-19 crisis, discovered yesterday on the online platform of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion, by watching the video presentation of Philipp Plein. The German designer has, in fact, chosen to unveil his spring-summer 2021 collection himself, with the help of Roboclette, a robotic solution for festive events of the Swiss start-up Workshop 4.0, namely two articulated arms, masters of ceremony of the Valais raclette, whose mission is to skillfully scrape the cheese as it melts.
Find out how Roboclette showcases Philipp Plein's fashion accessories and fragrances in the video below.
Watch Roboclette at work with cheese in the video below.
Philipp Plein, keen on sci-fi and tech imagery, had already used robotic arms which held out bags or sunglasses to the models of his ready-to-wear Spring-Summer 2016 show, on September 23, 2015, in Milan, while robot musicians were accompagning the performance of singer Courtney Love.
On February 10, 2017, under a giant spaceship, a robot walked the runway of Philipp Plein’s Fall-Winter 2018-2019 show in New York. Watch it below.
