The drag queen A'Whora wears a jacket in vegan alter-leather Piñatex
No need to wear animal leather to be a fierce queen. The proof with A'Whora, the ex-candidate of RuPaul's Drag Race UK, who has fallen for a pineapple fiber alternative, signed by the designer Eden Keshia.

The drag queens of RuPaul's Drag Race are never stingy when it comes to the use of feathers, fur and leather to sublimate their stage and runway outfits, so many materials that generate suffering for animals, still unfortunately adorned with an aura of luxury conferred by the fashion industry which organizes their exploitation. But A'Whora is a modern queen. The artist who had already shown an interest in innovative fashion and 3D printing in the 2nd season of the British edition of the famous drag queens contest (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article), just demonstrate, yesterday, that you can be a fashion queen worthy of this title, without making animals suffer. The British queen has thus set her sights on a vegan embroidered gold jacket, made from pineapple fibers, signed by the English designer Eden Keshia (see here).
The material in which the jacket is made, marketed by Ananas Anam, is called Piñatex, more exactly it is the material called Metallic Wrinkled Gold, available on the official website of the alter-leather company (see here).
This innovative material can be used, for instance, as a plant-based alternative to leather of animal origin, which is harmful to the environment and to sentient beings. Piñatex, developed by Carmen Hijosa, is made from fibers extracted from pineapple leaves, thus from waste, since they are collected after the harvest , from farmers' plantations in the Philippines. Piñatex is PETA-approved vegan, the label from the animal rights association People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (see here). Find out more about Pinatex in the video below.
