* Legacy Saga watches by Garmin
On October 4th, the American company Garmin announced the launch of its Legacy Saga serie, two GPS connected watches, inspired by characters from Star Wars, Rey and Darth Vader. The white leather band of Rey watch is modeled after her outfit in The Rise of Skywalker. The watch is adorned with the Jedi insignia, its silver bezel shows lightsaber details, while the case back of the watch is emblazoned with the motto of the resistance heroine "Nothing’s impossible". The leather band of the Darth Vader watch is embellished with red stitching, the Sith color, while the texture of its bezel refers to the cockpit of his TIE Advanced X1 starfighter. One of Darth Vader quotes "Rule the Galaxy" threatens the universe, from the case back of this wearable to discover here on Garmin website.
* Star Wars x Barbie Doll collection
The Star Wars x Barbie collaboration is an homage to Star Wars : A New Hope, the movie by George Lucas, released in 1977, the first installment of the original Star Wars trilogy. The collection “re-imagines iconic characters through a distinctive Barbie high-fashion filter”, can one read on Mattel website (see here). Princess Leia is wearing her famous white gown with floor-length sleeves, silvery peplum belt, cuff jewelry and her signature bun hairstyle. The R2-D2 doll captures the geometric droid’s look with a dome skirt, bomber jacket and thigh-high boots over silvery tights. A blue ponytail and makeup complete the silhouette. The Darth Vader inspired Barbie proudly wears his emblematic black cape over a shiny ensemble, with metallic details at the collar and waist, with dark glasses, of course.
* Baby Yoda plush toy
Baby Yoda aka The Child, literally broke the internet when he first appeared in The Mandalorian, the live-action Star Wars television serie, created by American director John Favreau. With his big eyes, disproportionate ears and his little monk dress (inspired by Margiela?, wonders Dazed magazine here), identical to the one of Jedi master Yoda, Baby Yoda is cuteness incarnated. This 11-inch plush toy of The Child is available for pre-order on the Amazon website, since December 6th (see here). Released on November 12, on Disney + streaming service, The Mandalorian has eight episodes, the 7th of which will be released on the same day as The Rise of Skywalker, this December 18th.
