While humans struggle to memorize the choreographies of the Korean band BTS by heart, the robot dog from the robotics company Boston Dynamics is programmed to do so. Such a star, this Spot.

We knew that the Boston Dynamics robots were gifted for dance (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article). On the occasion of the acquisition, on June 21, of the American robotics company by Hyundai Motor, the automomobile subsidiary of the Korean conglomerate Hyundai, they were assigned another mission: to perform a choreography on the title IONIQ: I'm On It from the band BTS, the anthem of Hyundai ambassadors for the promotion of the IONIQ electric car, released on August 31. And it is Spot, the industrial inspection robot, that happily agreed to do it.

While humans must follow laborious dance tutorials on Youtube to learn the complex moves of K-pop choreographies, the robot Spot has been exempted from dance practice. Better still, he could count on its own choreographer and on a roboticist in charge of programming its show, in a dedicated dance software. A unique opportunity for Boston Dynamics to improve the technical performance of its famous dog, to be discovered in the video I'm On It, unveiled online on June 29.

A choreography so well executed that it did not fail to amaze the seven members of BTS, who came to support their new four-legged colleague.

A fortnight ago, the robot Spot, that also delivered sneakers for Adidas last February (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article), traveled to Paris to attend the tech and start-up event Vivatech, at Porte de Versailles. Le Boudoir Numérique immortalized its demo in the video below.
