In his FW 25-26 collection Future Memory, presented on March 4th, 2025, during Paris Fashion Week, French designer Alphonse Maitrepierre delves deeper into his retro-tech fascination with a reflective moment on his creative heritage, questioning the links between past and future. Embracing technological tools, Maitrepierre uses for instance the laser cutting technique to create garments with a worn, damaged appearance—as if just unearthed from your grandmother’s attic.
The Instagram post below by stylist Capucine Lahure offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the laser technique she used to create the pieces, with her studio’s collaborators.

Already, in his Spring-Summer 2025 collection titled Let’s Play, Alphonse Maitrepierre had fully embraced geek culture to deliver a collection where, as he noted on his Instagram account on October 23, 2024, “technological relics are transformed into garments: from TV dresses to gameboy tank tops and bags that look like old-school keyboards. Wiring, plugs, circuits and joysticks adorn the silhouettes of an ideal wardrobe.”
Alphonse Maitrepierre’s nostalgic affection for technology and video games was perfectly embodied in the game console accessory shown below.
