Innovative materials - Genny launches vegan apple alter-leather bags

The Italian brand Genny unveiled, yesterday, on its website, a more sustainable capsule collection including bags made with cruelty-free AppleSkin from Frumat.

On Earth Day, Genny proposed a capsule collection, The Sustainable Wardrobe, featuring more sustainable materials that are less harmful to the environment and sentient beings.
The Italian brand has for instance set its sights on AppleSkin for some accessories unveiled on February 25, during the presentation of its Fall-Winter 2021-2022 collection at Milan Fashion Week.
On the brand's website, an envelope clutch, two shopper bags and a shoulder bag, made of vegan apple alter-leather, composed of recycled waste from the food production of apple juice in Italy, polyester and organic cotton, are available since yesterday (images below : ©Genny).

AppleSkin is a patented material from the Italian company Frumat, located in Bolzano and manufactured by the Mabel factory in Florence. Watch Frumat CEO Hannes Parth talk more about this innovative material in the video below.

Frumat's AppleSkin is also used, for example, by the French brand Poétique Paris, specialized in cruelty free alter-leathers fashion (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article).

On April 11, Poétique Paris released two new apple alter-leather bags, Gala and Smith (see here).
