Carice van Houten, the red priestess of Game of Thrones, is metamorphosing in an ethereal nymph in the laser cut dress of the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, unveiled monday, during the online edition of Paris haute couture week.

Mélisandre had rather accustomed us to the fiery red silks and crimson velvets. Carice van Houten, the actress embodying the priestess of the God of Flame and Shadow in the serie Game of Thrones, does wonders in a new role: fashion model for the presentation of the Transmotion dress by designer Iris van Herpen, during Paris fashion week haute couture Fall-Winter 2020-2021, which took place in digital form, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, on the online platform of the French Federation of Haute Couture and Fashion, from 6 to 8 July.

This Monday, the Dutch designer has chosen to unveil only one dress, whose white silk organza radiates around a central motif in duchess satin, laser cut and sewn by hand, symbolizing this marriage between innovative experimentations and traditional know-how that has made the renown of this designer keen on technology. This week’s haute couture digital platform also featured discussions and interviews, including that of Iris van Herpen by American fashion journalist Jessica Michault. The designer talks, among other things, about her digital presentation, how she lived the creative process in lockdown, her fascination for innovation, as well as her reflections on virtual reality that she plans to introduce in her next show.
