To transcribe the "symbolic of the turbulent motion of our minds, through which we rectify our reality", such is the mission that Iris van Herpen has given herself, by unveiling, on January 25, two sumptuous kinetic crowns, “each gently shape-shifting their silhouette, continuously re-framing the visage” of the models of her Spring-Summer 2021 presentation at Paris Haute Couture Week. Iris van Herpen's SS21 haute couture collection, entitled Roots of Rebirth, explores, as the Dutch designer's press release indicates, "a symbiosis of high technology and the artisanal craftsmanship of couture, through a collection that references the intricacy of fungi and the entanglement of life that breathes beneath our feet”. Below check out the 21 silhouettes of Iris van Herpen's presentation, inspired by roots and spores.
