Iris van Herpen's Spring-Summer 2021 haute couture presentation was, once again, full of surprises, especially for fashion tech enthusiasts: if two kinetic crowns (more info here) and a dress in Ocean Plastic from Parley for the Oceans (more info here) attracted the attention of the press, the transparent exoskeleton jewel unveiled at the start of the show did not go unnoticed by connoisseurs (images below : © Iris van Herpen).
The hand ornament was worn by the model Nina Gulien, when the first silhouette of the show walked on the runway (see pictures below ©Gio Staiano for Iris van Herpen).
Signed by the Japanese nail artist Eichi Matsunaga based in New York, this jewel is made in 3D printing, additive manufacturing technology allowing him to create decorative accessories to be placed not only on the nails but also on the fingers and the hand as a whole.
Eichi Matsunaga has become known for his over-the-top and futuristic designs, pushing the boundaries of nail art, with his unique visual extravagances.
