The American singer Lady Gaga received the Best Collaboration award for her duo with Ariana Grande, in a laser-cut silhouette by Dutch designer Iris van Herpen, yesterday, at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, in New York.

“We are excited to have made this custom technicolour Haute Couture dress for her.” It’s in these terms that the brand Iris van Herpen expressed its delight, this Monday, for Lady Gaga appearance, in one of its creations, at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards, the day before, in New York.

The American singer wore a dress made by laser cutting, a manufacturing technique aimed at cutting material with a laser, a process at the heart of the artistic work of technology-savvy designer Iris van Herpen.

Below, watch Lady Gaga receive the award for Best Collaboration for her duo with singer Ariana Grande, "Rain on me." Also note her pink mask, one of the many social distancing accessories worn by the star, this August 30, during the VMA’s (more info here).

This is not the first that Lady Gaga has set her sights on an Iris van Herpen silhouette. Last May, she posed with a dress by the Dutch designer to promote her latest album, Chromatica (more info here).
