The Japanese company Sanrio announced, on May 12, the release of a capsule collection of clothing designed for Lovot, the emotional robot of Groove X. Dressing your robot, a weak signal of a fashion tech trend to watch closely to understand the future evolution of our relationship with companion robots.

Le Boudoir Numérique promised you, when Lovot was launched in 2018 (read here), that it was going to follow the evolution of the clothing style of this adorable home robot, the Japanese company Groove X which markets it having announced, at that time, that the cyber fashionista would benefit from his own collections of clothing and fashion accessories.

Indeed, on Lovot website, it is already possible to buy bags, hats, sweaters, jeans dresses and other Hawaiian shirts, not to mention leopard or cow print bodysuits allowing the lucky owners of a Lovot to "dress it to impress", to "go out in style" and "highlight the individuality" of their robotic friend (images below : ©Lovot).

But the collaboration between Hello Kitty, the character from the Japanese company Sanrio and the cute home robot, marks a new stage in the life of this fashion addict. From now on, as Sanrio announced on May 12, Lovot can wear clothes inpired by the kawaii gentle cat, in red or blue.

The mini collection consists of a body adorned with, it goes without saying, the famous red Hello Kitty ribbon. The ribbon is removable and can therefore be detached from the white undegarment also featuring Kitty Chan’s whiskers and little ears.

Above the bodysuit, the family robot will wear red overalls decorated with yellow buttons. The lining features a pink gingham check.

In the blue version of the overalls, also decorated with yellow buttons, the gingham check lining is red.

Dressing your robot, in accordance with your own tastes, social status or aspirations, is undoubtedly a weak signal to follow closely, in order to understand the evolution of fashion tech. A trend which, if it spreads in the future, should say a lot about the transformation of our society through technology and its relationship to companion robots, in the context of the aging population of industrialized countries, since the Second World War.
