While Disney's Pam & Tommy series is shining the spotlight on her, Pamela Anderson is receiving the honors of Le Boudoir Numérique for a completely different reason. Indeed, the ardent defender of animals, elected personality of the year in 2018 by the animal protection association PETA, has seen the unveiling of the latest fruit of her collaboration with Ashoka Paris: the Pamela Shopping Bag.
Awarded by PETA for its vegan bags the same year as Pamela Anderson, the French brand of cruelty-free and eco-responsible leather goods Ashoka Paris launched, last Monday, on its website, this large tote bag in apple alter-leather, co-created with the American star.
Embellished, on its front pocket, with a clasp inspired by the brass portholes of old sailboats, the bag has four interior pockets, two large, two small and is completed with an independent inside pocket. The lining of the bag takes up the pattern of Pamela Anderson's stylized lips for a model available in four colors: black, nude, terracotta and red.
The Ashoka Paris x Pamela Anderson capsule collection in AppleSkin was born in May 2020, in collaboration with the designer David Mateo. In addition to the tote bag, it has three other models: the Pamela Box, the Pamela Pouch and the Pamela Backpack.
AppleSkin, an innovative material from the Italian company Frumat, made from residues of the apple food industry, is a vegan and more sustainable alternative to animal-based leather, which generates suffering for sentient beings, human and non-humans but also pollutes the environment. The lining of the bags is made with plastic from recycled bottles.
*On the occasion of the launch of the Pamela Shopping Bag, Ashoka Paris has partnered with PETA UK to offer to the British residents the chance to win a bag of this model. The contest (see here) is open until March 4, 2022 for notification of the winner on March 11.
