The Venezuelan singer Arca questions gender identity in her futuristic music video, released yesterday, NonBinary, whose visual universe has been entrusted to Belgian artist Frederik Heyman, keen on technology and SF imagery.

Revisting Botticelli's The Birth of Venus in a cyberpunk way, it had to be done and Arca did it, in her NonBinary music video, released yesterday. By her side, neither Zephyr, nor goddess of Spring but robotic arms welcoming the appearance of the Venezuelan singer, newly-born goddess Venus, standing nude in her giant scallop shell. In another scene, Arca is about to give birth, under the care of a bunch of robot midwives. The title of the song NonBinary refers to the fact of not defining one's gender identity, according to a male or female cleavage.

The music video is signed by photographer Frederik Heyman, Belgian artist fond of technology and sci-fi references, who recently took the pictures of Lady Gaga, half-human, half-android for the Transformation 2020 issue of Paper magazine (more info in this Boudoir Numérique paper here : Lady Gaga, fashion tech high priestess, on the cover of Paper Mag).
