Le Boudoir numérique : Why did you choose to create Hair Ritual Analyzer by Sisley, a hair diagnosis technology tool?
Marine Gimbert, Head of International Marketing at Hair Rituel by Sisley : Beauty brands are increasingly using technology and many connected devices already exist on the market, particularly in Asia. Thus, it seemed essential to complete the Hair Rituel by Sisley products range with an expert tool, offering a very fine analysis of the scalp and hair fiber. The products recommendations made by our beauty consultants, in stores, can now be validated by a fast and personalized dermatological diagnosis, based on data from this new technological tool.
How did you develop this innovative tool? Do you have a technological laboratory, like L'Oréal, for example, with its Connected Beauty Incubator?
No, at this point, we do not have a dedicated technology lab. To develop a reliable diagnostic tool, Sisley's research laboratory relied on the expertise of dermatologists, opticians and connected objects specialists. For instance, Hair Ritual Analyzer by Sisley features a very powerful optical sensor to accurately visualize the scalp and hair fiber. We have also worked with the creative technology agency NoDesign to develop a stylish, sleek and easy-to-use device.
How is the diagnosis done?
A preliminary discussion takes place between the beauty consultant and the client regarding her needs, expectations, feelings, etc. The measurements are then performed with Hair Ritual Analyzer on the scalp and hair fiber, at the roots and tips. A capillary vitality analysis is generated by an algorithm, in terms of scalp uniformity and sensitivity, pore and fiber status, dryness, capillary density, and fiber diameter. The diagnostic tool is linked to an application that allows to view the results on a tablet, so that the beauty consultant can make products recommendations, within the Hair Ritual by Sisley range. Finally, the complete analysis is sent to the client by e-mail.
* Since March 1st, the Hair Ritual Analyzer by Sisley experience has been offered in the Séguier salon of the brand ambassador hairdresser, Matthieu Séguier, at 13 rue de la Boétie, in the 8th district of Paris. It will be extended to the stores selling the Hair Rituel by Sisley range, this spring.
