When a robot artist is lucky enough to sport a dress that grows by itself in real time, there is only one thing left to do: draw self-portraits.

By Ludmilla Intravaia

While Auroboros stood out last June by launching Biomimicry, its first virtual ready-to-wear collection, on the occasion of London Fashion Week (more info in this Boudoir Numérique article), the brand is leaving the Metaverse for real life, taking over the Victoria & Albert Museum, as part of the London Design Festival, until September 26th. Auroboros signs, in fact, a very special dress, since it is made in a liquid that, sensitive to the oxidation process, will harden into crystals evolving throughout the duration of this artistic installation Auroboros x Ai-Da.

And if the name of the installation mentions Ai-Da, it is because this artist robot was chosen to wear the living dress, while it will draw self-portraits and interact with visitors, thanks to conversation phrases pre-programmed by its inventor, Aidan Meller. Watch the humanoid robot in action, in the video below.
