NYFW 20-21 : inclusive fashion tech at Chromat show

The paralympic champion Femita Ayanbeku, wearing a leg prosthesis and transgender artist Carmen Carrera appeared, last February, at Chromat New York fashion show, celebrating a body positive vision of sport.

Savage X Fenty by Rihanna, Chromat, Lulu et Gigi Couture…, several American brands are taking the opportunity of New York fashion week to highlight their body positive vision of fashion, by welcoming to their catwalks models of all ages, origins, morphologies and disabilities, for instance amputated models, wearing prostheses (for more information, read these Boudoir Numérique papers here and there).
On February 9, Chromat continued spreading its message of diversity, during its fall-winter 20 show, which featured the paralympic champion Femita Ayanbeku, a leg amputee at the age of eleven. On its Instagram account, the brand claims that this collection AW20 collection “reimagines sports as a gender inclusive space where all athletes can compete as they are" (see below).
The transgender artist Carmen Carrera, seen for example in the TV program Rupaul's Drag Race, was also part of this “Team Chromat” who did dance routines and workout exercises, during the show presented at Rise by We wellness center.
