Delivery drones, smart home and fintech, the new normal dreamed by Khalid
For his latest music video New Normal, released four days ago, the American singer Khalid leaps into the future to share his version of a brands-sponsored technological future.

We are August 18, 2037. The singer Khalid returns from his hairdresser. Depressed by the creative extravagances of his colourist who is decidedly too fond of the purple-blue combination and light-headed by the chemical scents of his new hair color spray, he decides not to take the wheel himself. Thus, he delegates the driving to an autonomous vehicle which will bring him directly back to his home sweet home.
He chooses a Zoox robotaxi, launched in December 2020. In less than two decades, the American company seems to have completely crushed its competition and Zoox automated shuttles now abound in the streets of Los Angeles.
In the Bradbury Building where the American artist lives, this historic Los Angeles building made famous by the film Blade Runner by Ridley Scott in 1982, no replicants but delivery drones, less rebellious and very practical for parcel returns.
In his futuristic apartment, Khalid is never alone. His plants are watered by Sony’s PlayStation 5, which is no longer confined to its sole role as home video game console but now assumes its vocation as a domotic gadget full time.
Besides his plants, Khalid can share his most intimate secrets, by voice command, with all the neighborhood delivery robots, which understand him perfectly, even when he sings.
As he craves sushi, he pays for this delicacy directly on the connected panel of his apartment, by Visa, via the banking service of the American fintech Chime.
Pampered by his high-tech companions and now sated, Khalid is happy and ready to set off again on new adventures sponsored by the Silicon Valley. He's going to fly into space with a rocket. Khalid doesn't really know where. No problem, it only takes 90 minutes.
