Fashion tech in Black Mirror

The season 5 of Black Mirror is back on Netflix, since June 5. The opportunity for Le Boudoir Numérique to take stock of its fashion tech finds, since the launch of the technological anticipation serie in 2011.

The anthology of dystopian anticipation Black Mirror has settled in the televisual landscape by its sharp reflection on the excesses of technology and social networks. It explores alternative futures, questioning the uses of new technologies and their potentially harmful effects on the daily lives of their users. Virtual doppelgänger, implantable wearables, artificial personal assistant ... in eight years, between the lines of each independent episode, the contours of tomorrow fashion technology have been sketched. A not so distant future in fact. 

SEASON 5

* Episode 1 (Striking Vipers)

Players in the video game Striking Vipers X slip into the shoes of two fighters, Roxette and Lance. Virtual reality allows, among other things, many changes of outfits for Roxie, the pretty blonde, wich is very convenient, when you want to keep a high profile as a fashionable warrior.

 * Episode 3 (Rachel, Jack and Ashley, Too)

Ashley Too is a cute intelligent companion, programmed according to the personality of pop star Ashley O, played on screen by American singer Miley Cyrus.

Ashley Too gives makeup and choreography tips, coated with a large dose of pep talk and daily motivational quotes to inspire you to be suscessful. 

Ashley Eternal is a holographic performer in the image of singer Ashley O that changes sizes and stage costumes, in a snap of a finger.

SAISON 3

* Episode 1 (Nose Dive)

Connected mirror showing your popularity on social networks. The heroine of this episode, Lacie, laughs grundgingly : she seeks a 4.5 to acquire the house of her dreams.

During a real estate visit, a hologram in your image makes you virtually taste what could be your perfect life in a residential area. A "limited edition living" that seems to require the daily preparation of a salad, in a pink bathrobe, with a big forced smile.

As soon as the visit is over, here is Lacie redacted from the promotional campaign of her dreamland.

* Episode 4 (San Junipero)

In the virtual world of San Junipero, where personalities of departed people are uploaded, one can get from casual to dressed to the nines, in less time than it takes to think.

SEASON 2 

* Special episode (white Christmas)

Through a visual link, a personal assistant 3.0 (immortalized by the American actor Jon Hamm) gives advices to his client on how to seduce girls. A tip : always wear a black tie with a gray jacket. And forget about the blue shirt. 

The same Jon Hamm continues his evil work, in this episode, by digitally copying a real women to turn her double into a virtual butler. From a dashboard regulating the domestic life of the household, a computerized voice reminds her of her daily activities. Ideal to never forget the hairdresser appointment, for example.

SEASON 1

 * Episode 2 (Fifteen Million Merits)

Decorative virtual wall with interactive landscape and avatar. 

Virtual mirror to monitor your toothpaste consumption, while watching the compulsary program Wraith Babes.
